The lake is on the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard, easily accessed from the bypass. A car park can be used by anglers. The car park barrier does not allow tall vehicles access.
The lake is a mecca for specimen hunters. Well stocked with carp to 46lb, with at least three other fish over 40lb, it is a premier carp fishery. Restocked in the winter of 2021 with VS Fisheries C4 and C5 carp from 10lb to 17lb. These new fish are likely to grow fast in the rich water and will add to the already significant number of carp present. Carp in the 15lb to 40lb range are regularly caught. The carp stocks are impressive, with some of the best carp fishing not only locally but also nationally.
The lake is also well known for its stock of Wels catfish. The fish are now approaching treble figures! Cats to 96lb have been caught in past summers and there are many other cats for our members to catch, fish in the 50lb to 80lb range are regularly caught. Multiple captures are not uncommon. We expect the lake record to hit the magic 100lb soon.
Other specimen fish are also caught. Tench to 13lb have been caught, also bream to 16lb.
There are pike and perch in the lake, pike to 20lb have been caught in the past, with the most recent captures in the mid-teens. Some large rudd have been seen but not yet caught!
Night fishing is allowed if you have a Tiddenfoot night pass. Numbers are limited to 100 tickets. See the Tiddenfoot Night Pass page for further information.
Tiddenfoot is a high quality specimen water and offers the opportunity for members to catch large carp, catfish, tench and bream.
