Astral Park Lake

The lake is on the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard, easily accessed from the bypass. A car park can be used by anglers. The car park is accessed by gates from the A505 lay by on the bypass. The gates are secure and fitted with coded locks. 

Please lock the gates on entry and exit.  

No cars are to be taken down to the waters edge, cars should be parked in the designated car park.  

The lake is around 10 acres and of variable depth. There is weed growth during the summer months, which varies in coverage year to year.  Astral Park Lake has been recently stocked and is being developing as a water for the future. 

Already our members are catching carp to 15lb (average is around 8lb at the moment) with multiple catches during a session. During the past year the lake has been stocked with 1800 carp to 23lb, adding to the resident stock of common carp. Tench, crucian carp, bream, roach, perch and a few barbel have been stocked in the last 18 months. Recently (December 2021) another 4,000 roach were added and in November 2022 a further 12 carp were stocked between 14lb and 23lb 8oz . We hope to provide our members with a quality mixed fishery and the specimen anglers with a busy runs water for carp. 

The carp are growing quickly and soon we expect Astral to produce more twenty pound fish each spring.  A spread of quality bait (such as boilies and pellets) seem to well with a PVA bag of pellets and a bright hook bait over the top, but it's important to read the water before piling in lots of bait.  Presently no night fishing is allowed on the lake, see the arrival & departure times below. Our members are encouraged to use the lay-by car park and avoid parking in the nearby housing estate. Our Astral bailiff team will be there to advise and help you if necessary. 

Although the public may walk dogs around the lake our members are not allowed to bring a dog with them.
